Welcome to Mail Call USA.

Hi there,

I'm so glad you've discovered my little corner in the cyber world.  I like to think my corner here is similar to a very old fashioned library with walls and walls of books, comfy overstuffed chairs near the fireplace or the tall windows that overlook a waterfall, where one can curl up and read through the days mail or possibly a new or favorite book.  It's a place where you can even share a spot of tea or cup of coffee with a friend.  And I do hope we can become friends.

I'm sure your first question will be why or possibly where I got the name for my blog area.  Well, you see, I love to get mail.  I also enjoy sending mail.  Especially dear to my heart is sending cards and letters to those men and women who are serving in the military overseas.  I think it is important to help keep up their morale when they are so far from home and loved ones living in conditions and through experiences we will never truly fathom.

In the old days, people would send letters to friends and family to bring them current on the activities in their lives.  They also would write people and ask for advice.  Those serving the military would wait each day to hear the words "Mail Call" to find out if they had received a letter or a package from home.  Today they more likely send an email or facebook someone, but you must admit, there is nothing like getting a letter in the mail.  Especially when you are far from home and just want that touch, that connection with those you love.

These pages will be my letters to you, my friends and family,  near and far.  I hope you will write back and share your stories with me. For much like the stories in a book, letters can allow you to travel through time and space to share a particular moment in time.  So pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee or tea, or maybe something cold if it's hot outside and let's look through today's mail call and see what it holds for us.

Miss June
